Is this for you?

You don't need any qualifications, experience, or a "plan" to join IYCP. You just need to be willing to show up and engage. That's it.

Our programme is designed for young people who've felt overlooked by mainstream pathways — whether that's school, work, or the creative industries. If that sounds like you, this is your space.

  • You're aged 14–25 and based in or around South London
  • Not in full-time education or employment - or just figuring things out — all welcome
  • You're interested in creativity, fashion, branding, or design — even if you've never done it before
  • You're looking to build confidence and figure out your next steps
  • Willing to commit to the full programme
  • You've struggled to find spaces where you feel like you belong
  • You want a real qualification and real industry exposure — for free

What you'll walk away with

Six days. Life-changing outcomes.

🎓

A recognised qualification

Every young person who completes IYCP receives a Leadership and Development qualification, supported by the Rio Ferdinand Foundation.

💼

A portfolio of work

You'll create a moodboard, a conceptual fashion design, a personal brand, and a full pitch deck. All yours to take away and use.

🔥

Confidence that sticks

From pitching to senior leaders at Apple to learning how to walk into any room and own it — IYCP builds a version of confidence that doesn't fade when the programme ends.

🏢

Real industry connections

We take you inside places like the Southbank Centre, Tate Britain, and Depop HQ — and connect you with professionals who can open doors.

🧭

A clear path forward

You'll leave with an actionable career plan tailored to you — not a generic checklist, but a real roadmap built around your skills and goals.

💛

A community

IYCP brings together young people with similar lived experiences. Many of our alumni stay connected long after the programme ends — and some become Ambassadors.

What comes next

After IYCP: The Ambassador Programme

IYCP is just the beginning. The Ambassador Programme is where it gets real.

After completing IYCP, young people can apply to our Ambassador Programme — a pathway into real work experience, mentoring roles, and active involvement in shaping Trash Gxng's future.

Ambassadors don't just represent the organisation. They help design programmes, speak at events, collaborate with partners, and in some cases step into paid roles within the team.

In their own words

What young people say about IYCP

"

If I knew I'd grow so much as a person I would have been the first to sign up. I've gained so much confidence to speak up, share my thoughts and just be myself.

"

"It has given me confidence in expressing myself amongst groups of people I don't know and given me motivation for my own life."

"

Everything was fun, interactive and engaging. I actually wanted to be there every single day — and I'm not usually like that.

"

We all shared our responsibilities and got involved and I loved that. I really liked how we all had each other in mind — it felt like a real team.

Common questions

Got questions? We've got answers.

Is IYCP really free? +
Yes — completely. There is no cost to attend, no hidden charges, and we cover programme materials throughout. IYCP is fully funded so that money is never a barrier to accessing it.
Do I need any experience in fashion or design? +
Not at all. You don't need any prior creative experience to join. The programme is designed to be accessible regardless of where you're starting from — the only thing you need to bring is yourself and your willingness to engage.
Where does the programme take place? +
Our programmes are based at our Brixton Youth Hub in South London. We also do full corporate partner tours to partner venues including the Southbank Centre, Tate Britain, Depop HQ, and other industry locations as part of the programme experience.
How do I apply, and when is the next programme? +
The easiest way to secure a place is to register your interest using the form below. We'll contact you directly when applications open for the next cohort. Places are limited, so registering early is the best way to make sure you don't miss out.
What if I'm nervous or don't know anyone? +
That's completely normal — and honestly, most people feel exactly the same on Day 1. IYCP is designed to be a safe space where you can show up as you are. Our facilitators and youth workers create an environment where everyone feels seen and supported from the very start.
